Eclipse Aerospace

Eclipse AerospaceEclipse Aviation was orginally founded to provide a state-of-the-art, single pilot capable aircraft that fit into the FAA specifications of a VLJ or Very Light Jet.  Years of research and development, working with suppliers and creating both a manufacturing capability as well as enabling the theory of an Air Taxi industry brought Eclipse to develop and launch the Eclipse 500 VLJ.

After spending over 1 billion dollars in development and the successful production of 260 EA500 Very Light Jets, due to financial weakness, Eclipse Aviation ceased production and operation in February 2009. Eclipse customers Mason Holland and Michael Press lead and effort and are successful in purchasing the assets of Eclipse Aviation and re open the company and restart operations as Eclipse Aerospace on September 4th 2009.

In recent communications with existing Eclipse 500 owners the new management team has executed almost all of its initial transition plan.  Suppliers, FAA and EASA requirements as well as service center and parts/inventory agreements are all underway or completed.  These new arrangements should allow the newly formed Eclipse Aerospace to continue to support the existing fleet of Eclipse 500's as well as the ability to lay the groundwork for further production.
